Using Mobile Apps

Time for our Questions of the Week!

Business Question of the Week: According to Mobile Marketing Watch, Google reports that 1/3 all Google searches using mobile devices are somehow related to the searcher's local area - so when people are out and about in their local area, they are searching for local maps, restaurants, shops and more. Small businesses are aware of this trend, as a recent AT&T Small Business Technology Poll found that nearly 70% of small businesses use mobile apps to save time, increase their productivity and reduce their costs. Do you use mobile apps with your business?

General Question of the Week: Do you use mobile apps to help you find or save with small businesses in your area?

How Do You Support Twin/Multiples Owned Businesses?

Time for our Questions of the Week! This week's question comes from Entwined Community Co-Founder, Anthony.

Business Question of the Week: World News with Diane Sawyer ran a series last week on supporting American made products, stating that if every person spent $3.33 on American made products each year, we could create nearly 10,000 new jobs.

At Entwined Community, we feel the same way about supporting businesses that are owned by adult multiples or the parents of multiples. Supporting businesses owned by twin, triplet, quadruplet or more families helps create jobs and income for families just like yours. As a twin/multiples owned business, how do you support other businesses that are twin/multiples owned? For example, when we were looking for a graphic designer to design our logo for Entwined Community, we specifically wanted to use someone who was a twin or parent of multiples, and selected J4 Design, a twin mom out of San Francisco. The photographer for Alicia's photos on our About page were by twin mom photographer Sweet Shots Photography, while the photographer for our membership cards seen on our home page were by twin mom photographer Worth a Thousand Words Photography. If you have not worked with a twin/multiples owned business, share how you plan to in the future.

General Question of the Week: How do you currently support twin/multiples owned businesses? What is the last purchase that you made from a twin/multiples owned business?

Help spread the word about twin/multiples owned businesses! Find our badges on our Flickr page - if you are a twin/multiples owned business use this code for this badge, and if you are a family that supports twin/multiples owned businesses, use this code for this badge. To find the code, select the badge you like and click on "Share this", then "Grab the HTML/BBB code", then copy the code (you can choose between 75x75, 100x100 or 125x125), then paste the code into your website or blog.

Happy March from Entwined Community!

Happy March - Entwined Community hopes this month will bring luck to you and your family! Join us on the blog this month as we discuss spring beauty makeovers, gardening, stocking your medicine cabinet and women's health tips, along with some special stories on St. Patrick's Day and Mardi Gras. Stay tuned to our website as well, we will have some very exciting changes coming in the next few weeks! March is also the birth month of a few sets of celebrity twins - media firestorm Charlie Sheen and Brooke Muller's twin boys Max and Bob will turn 2 on March 14th, and soccer star Mia Hamm's twin girls Grace and Ava will turn 4 on March 28th.

March's Business of the Month is Twiniversity. Twiniversity founder Natalie lives in New York and she loves St. Patrick's Day! Her children are multicultural - a mix of almost 8 nationalities - that's how it is in the melting pot of New York City, so Natalie and her family celebrate PLENTY of different holidays. Natalie's husband is half-Irish, so they play the leprechaun factor up big. Before the kids wake up they color everything green. She puts drops of green food coloring in the milk, a pitcher of water, pancake batter, she even puts some drops in the toilet bowl! The kids go NUTS over this and have already started talking about it as soon as Valentines Day is over. She is not even sure if other families do this, but they just came up with this wacky tradition a few years ago. This year she is adding a "pot of gold" and has already bought some chocolate coins that she will leave in a bowl outside our door - it will make going to school that day a bit easier.

Natalie loves Entwined Community is so happy we are here to provide a great resource for the multiple community. She has been lucky enough to work with Entwined Community members - she proudly wears her Rebecca Novotny Designs necklace every chance she gets and even wore it on her first national interview on NBC. She has also been lucky enough to work with Entwined Community member Jane Goodrich of Jane Goodrich Photography. She and her twin sister came and took photos of one of Twiniversity's classes NYC. Natalie found Jane and her sister professional, sweet, and talented - stating that they even took some time to answer questions from parents who wanted some advice from the twins prospective - rare is the occasion that you have two twin sisters in a room, you can ask them about how they felt when they were dressed alike and more. It was a true treat all around.

Our Member of the Month for March is Shannon N. from Las Vegas. Shannon is the mother of twin boys who just turned 1 in January. With Mexican food being her favorite, she looks forward to using her Entwined Community discount at Lindo Michoacan. She also plans to do some shopping for herself and friends at the Kandi Aisle.
